An Illiterate Bunch

Sometimes I forget that Robin Hood is set in the 13th century and that the only person who would know how to read is Robin. Of course we know Djaq can read, but everyone else, who knows? I generally assumed they all knew how to read at first, after all, don't we all know? (or I'm assuming if you can read this you aren't illiterate). Historically, they really wouldn't know how to read. Or anything else either. They might know basic math and a little history passed down through family and friends, but that's it. And Robin (and Djaq) were the only ones with an education.
