BTS With Jonas Armstrong: Robin Hood Was A Little Too Merry

It was during the filming of the series when the police got a call that a taxi driver was having difficulties with a passenger. On arrival, the police saw that the passenger-none other than Robin Hood star, Jonas Armstrong,-was being verbally abusive to the driver and clearly drunk. The driver said Armstrong spat on the back window and refused to pay. The driver also said that when he spoke against his behavior, Armstrong attempted to punch him but missed. Armstrong became offensive with the officers and called them-in his own words- "F******  w*****s" and "a pair of f****** pussies." After that, Armstrong was arrested, notedly, forcibly.

Armstrong's lawyer, Michael Woosnam, denied that he had tried to punch the driver or spat on the window. He said that Armstrong was at a party and was returning to his mother's house. Once he got there, he realized that he did not have his jacket. He had neither the keys to the house or money. The driver was not happy and an argument broke out. Another taxi driver was called and they physically held him until the officers came.

Armstrong accepted that he had become drunk and that there was an argument and pleaded guilty as charged.

He was fined 100 pounds by Deputy District Judge Jim Clarke who told him "'Everybody now and again has one over the eight and considers themselves to be merry.

'There are ways in which people should conduct themselves in this sort of circumstance and I'm sure following your arrest you have had time to reflect." Armstrong left with any comments.

Some sources say that when the authorities asked who he was, he told them that he was 'Robin Hood'.
