That Guard in That One Episode

So in early Season Two, in the episode The Booby and The Beast, there's the scene where a guard tries to flirt with Marian. It fails terribly, but it makes me wonder. The guy was not young, around his 40s, maybe, so he certainly had a wife. Also, the fact that he would even try to associate with a Noble, woman, nonetheless, would get him fired at the very least. Of course Marian wouldn't had said anything because she wasn't supposed to be there.
