WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!

I have some mixed feelings on Allan's tragic death. Either way, I always wanted to know why they killed him. I always thought it was writing, an "endgame episode, this is getting serious" type of thing. And some part of me thought maybe BBC was being just plain ol' mean and was killing him just because.
BUT IT TURNS OUT THAT I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG IN EVERYTHING. You know how Allan got put on the side in Season Three? How stupid that was after what we saw in Season Two? Well, we weren't the only ones who were annoyed at this. According to IMDb, Joe Armstrong (Allan-a-Dale) was unhappy with what was going with his character and wanted out (like we see with so many other actors in this show). So if there was a fourth season, the death of Allan was going to happen.
